By mid-August we had fully insulated the English barn and begun plastering the vaulted ceiling.
The downstairs of the Stables was fully boarded and the loft plastered. Most of the windows and doors had been installed.

In late August we fixed the posts on the North side bedroom of the Haybarn ready for the doors to be fitted. Inside we knocked through the thick stone wall creating a doorway between the living area and the bedroom hallway, we also repaired and re-pointed this wall. The living room patio doors were also fitted.

By the end of August the jackdaws had left, we were now able to complete all the roof works on the Dairy. Although we didn’t plan to do so we renewed the tiles on the lean to as we felt the tiles didn’t suit the rest of the development and aesthetically wouldn’t fit in with the rest of the barns.

We began digging out the floors in the Dairy and Piggery.

The floors of the Calf shed, English barn and Stables were insulated and screeded and where needed under floor heating was installed. By the end of September we had finished digging out and stoning the floors in the Dairy and Piggery.

We began October by laying concrete and knocking through the openings for the windows on the North side of the Dairy. We also dug trenches and lay water pipes and drains for the Dairy and Piggery. We knocked through the walls separating what would be the living, dining, and kitchen areas to create one open plan space. We began insulating the roof on the dairy.

By the end of October we had completed the first wash coat on the downstairs of the Stables and finished painting the upstairs bedrooms. The carpenters fit the kitchen cabinets in the Stables and Calf Shed. We also began laying floor tiles in the Calf shed.
