We began February by laying type one aggregate on top of the concrete yard, with limestone laid on top. This was then finished with pea gravel to complement the buildings but also raise the levels and help with drainage. We demolished the wood shed which was to be replaced by a larger structure which would be divided in two with a laundry and games room.
We dug out the concrete yard outside the Haybarn laying type one and then sandstone paving slabs we also put in a water feature to make this area a pleasant area to enjoy the sunshine or BBQ.
The floor in the Dairy was screeded and the walls quickly painted. Ready for the kitchen units to be constructed.
The Piggery was insulated, battened and plaster boarded.
By the end of February we had installed lighting in the English Barn, Calf Shed, Stables, Haybarn and Dairy. Toilets showers and some radiators were fitted.
We added velux windows to the en suite bedrooms in the stables this gave plenty of natural light to an otherwise dark area.
We had completed the foundations for the Laundry/Games room. As well as patios outside the Haybarn and Dairy.
We began March by laying carpets in the Haybarn, Stables and English barn.
We completed more patios outside the Stables and Calf shed. Adding roundabouts which would be connected to block paving between the buildings. By the middle of March, we began block paving connecting the patios outside the building to form a path through the site.
We continued laying more type one aggregate and stone between the buildings and we removed the old red brick wall surrounding the piggery which would be rebuilt using engineering bricks.
We fitted a Juliet balcony to the Stables and concreted the floor for the laundry/games room.
We now had beds and sofas in the Stables, Calf shed, English barn and Haybarn.
The yard between the Calf shed and Haybarn was now looking close to completed with the patios linked by block paving and freshly laid pea gravel. The other yard between the Piggery, Dairy and Stables quickly followed.
The timber structure for the laundry/games room was quickly erected.
We insulated and screeded the floor in the Piggery and installed a water feature on the patio outside the Haybarn.
